Oxford House Community Care has achieved the criteria required from Berkshire Care Association for the ‘Care Service Recognition Award’.

The award was presented at a ceremony on 25th April 2024. Donna Doyle (Registered Manager) collected the award.

Donna commented “We work extremely hard to ensure we provide the very best care for the people we look after and this is a team effort that we are very proud of.”

Award Winners – Berkshire Care Association Care Awards 2024

Oxford House Community Care nominated staff for various award categories, and two of our Carers were shortlisted for the awards. These awards celebrate the contribution and the difference care staff make to others lives every day across Berkshire.

Oxford House are delighted to announce their Senior Carer, Denise Neighbour was announced overall Winner in the ‘Long Service Award’ category. Huge congratulations to Denise.

Trudie Twitchen was voted Highly Commended by the judging panel for the ‘Homecare Worker Award’ – congratulations to Trudie for this recognition.

Denise is Oxford House Community Care’s longest serving member of staff. With over 27 year’s of caring experience in her community of Windsor, she has supported so many people and their families. Her dedication and commitment is unrivalled. Denise provides a service which leaves an ever-lasting special effect on her clients through relationship building. One family member commented ‘‘The care given to Mum by Denise continues to be nothing short of exceptional. Denise shows unwavering compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness in every aspect of mum’s well-being. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, friendship and certainly goes above and beyond in her role providing exceptional love and care.’’

Trudie had no previous care experience when she joined Oxford House in 2021. Trudie motivates the people she visits to live as independently as possible in a safe environment. Trudie accompanies many people out into the community to allow them to live healthy, happy and enriched lives. A gentleman she looks after commented “I can say that Trudie is very special to me. She takes me out regularly and takes great care of me. She assists me in every way. I am now quite disabled and she is very kind and gentle in looking after me. She is very patient and understanding. We have such excellent rapport.”

Donna Doyle, Registered Manager and Tony Johnston, Managing Partner attended the awards ceremony with Denise and Trudie in Ascot on Thursday 25th April.

Donna commented “This is excellent recognition for the dedication they put into their work in the community, helping others by going above and beyond. They have both made such a considerable difference to their clients. We are very lucky to have them as part of our care team. Congratulations to both Carers”.
