On Friday 4th July, Oxford House Community Care held a summer tea party at Farnham Royal Village Hall in Slough, bringing together staff, clients, and their families. The afternoon was all about appreciation, connection, and a chance to celebrate the dedicated team that keeps Oxford House running.
Registered Manager Donna Doyle presented certificates to care staff who’ve been part of the organisation for over five years. It was a lovely way to recognise their commitment and the lasting relationships they’ve built over time. Among those honoured were Denise Neighbour, who’s been with Oxford House for an incredible 27 years, and Sheraz Rehman, with 25 years of service. Office team members were also recognised, including Claire Barry (12 years), and Monika Jalota and Samina Malik, who have both been with the organisation for 11 years.
Guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of finger food, cakes, samosas, drinks and music. We’re grateful to a few local businesses who added a special touch to the day: Vanilla Cakes (Maidenhead) donated a lovely cake tray; Party Shop Direct (Slough) helped with the decorations; and Lavender Green Flowers (London and Windsor) provided beautiful floral arrangements.
The event gave everyone a chance to pause and connect. Clients and carers had the chance to catch up, share stories, and enjoy time together outside of their usual routines. One client, Paul, summed it up perfectly: “It made such a nice change for those of us who spend most of our time at home to get out and about, chat with our own and other carers on level terms, and even connect with other clients and hear their stories too.”
Held during Good Care Month, the party was a heartfelt thank you to the team who give so much, day in and day out. With more than 35 years of experience supporting people across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, Oxford House remains committed to helping people live safely and independently in the place they call home.
