Our approach to care
For over 30 years, we’ve believed that exceptional home care goes far beyond meeting basic needs. We take a person-centred, holistic approach that puts each individual at the heart of everything we do. Our care supports not only physical needs, but also emotional, social, and psychological well-being.
We work closely with you and your family to develop personalised care plans that respect your loved one’s choices, preferences, and values. By recognising the whole person, not just their condition, we ensure every individual receives compassionate, dignified care that truly empowers them to remain independent in their own home.
Why choose home care?
Receiving high-quality, dependable support can make the difference between someone continuing to live independently and having to move into residential care. Our professional, friendly carers enable people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, surrounded by familiar comforts and cherished memories.
But we go beyond practical support. We want the people we care for to feel valued, to have carers they can talk to, who know them well and can anticipate their needs. Our carers become a valued extension to your family.
Our story
Oxford House Community Care was founded in 1993 with a simple but powerful vision: to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in the comfort of their own homes. Three decades later, that vision continues to guide everything we do.
Our 30 years of experience in home care across Berkshire and Buckinghamshire have taught us that every person’s needs are unique. We’ve learned to recognise individual requirements and tailor personal care packages that work for both the person being cared for and their family.
We’ve always embraced innovation that makes a real difference. In December 2023, we updated our systems with Careberry – cutting-edge care management technology developed by experienced care providers who understand the challenges our industry faces.
Building lasting relationships
Our carers don’t just visit – they build genuine, long-term relationships with the people they support. This means they can recognise when someone might need increased care and respond promptly to any concerns. It’s this personal touch that families tell us makes all the difference.
We’re proud to have a diverse team of over 50 carers from various backgrounds, including social services, nursing, and care. Many of our carers and office staff have personal care experience themselves, bringing both professional expertise and deep understanding to their roles.
Our commitment to you
“At Oxford House, the people we care for are always at the centre of what we do. We are here to provide support that is not only safe and effective but also delivered with compassion and care. Every person we care for is treated with dignity and kindness, and we work closely with families to make sure their loved ones feel valued and heard.”
