Maintaining dignity and respect are essential in personal care

Personal care is just that – extremely personal – so we take time to discuss this sensitive subject with the person we care for and their family.

Personal care covers help with:

  • Getting up each morning
  • Having a shower or washing
  • Using the toilet or commode
  • Changing incontinence aids
  • Cleaning teeth and/or dentures
  • Getting dressed
  • Taking medication
  • Undressing and getting into bed

…and much more.

It’s essential that the person we care for is comfortable with the help they are receiving; our carers will always respect what they want or don’t want, on any particular day.

Help can also be provided with cleaning glasses, replacing batteries in hearing aids, maintaining mobility around the home, meal preparation, and improving nutrition.

They wait until I tell them that I am ready for them to do what they have to do. To be fair, they are hot on dignity issues.
