Celebrating Long Service
Oxford House Nursing Home in Slough held an awards afternoon on 7th September to celebrate and acknowledge the superb work and commitment shown by staff to the Nursing Home and their residents. Staff were awarded for their long-service, ranging from 5 – 28 years!
Amanda O’Hara is the longest serving staff member, with an amazing 28 year’s service. This is what she had to say about her long, rewarding career in care.
“I started on 4th May 1994.… 28 years later I am still here! I felt that I had to work with the elderly after watching my Grandparents become ill.
This is such a rewarding job and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. The residents care will always be my top priority, working with their families to give them lasting memories.
We always give the residents choice, we care for them dearly and respect their dignity. I enjoy coming to work, it’s my second home.“
Tony Johnston, Managing Partner announced the winners and commented “We are unique in our sector to have so many long-standing members of staff. It is regularly acknowledged in our inspection reports and customer reviews as a major factor in helping us to establish strong and effective bonds with our residents, their families and across the whole team.
“Well done to all of our award winners. You are a credit to your profession and your ongoing hard work is very much appreciated by our residents, their relatives and all the management team. Thank you”.
