Meet the Oxford House Nursing Home Team

Oxford House Nursing Home employs the very best staff. Our Management team lead by example and fully invest their time and effort into supporting all their employees. Here are just a few of our wonderful team:

Amanda McMahon

Registered Manager

I started my career in care in June 2007, working as a carer for Oxford House Community Care. I completed my Adult Nursing Diploma training in September 2009 and I joined Oxford House Nursing Home in February 2010 as a registered nurse. I was promoted to deputy manager in 2018 and I have been the registered manager since November 2020.

I decided to become a nurse as I love helping people & receive job satisfaction from my role in helping others.

At Oxford House, we have a great team and we are well supported by the owners. The residents feel like family and I strive to do the very best I can for them.

The whole team is motivated to make Oxford House an outstanding nursing home.

Charmaine Saunders

Deputy Manager

I have worked in care for over 14 years. Previous jobs included office work and wine bar/catering manager. I decided that I needed to work nearer to home and thought that care would be a good job to pursue.  I started my career in care in 2007 at Oxford House Community Care as a carer with no experience at all.  I progressed into the roles of Senior Carer, Area Supervisor and Office Administrator. Having then worked in children’s mental health for 1 year, I applied for a job as a carer at Oxford House Nursing Home. I soon gained promotions to Supervisor, Medication Lead and now Deputy Manager.

I love my present position and it feels good that I have been able to work my way up through to where I am now. I get great satisfaction ensuring that the residents are safe and that the staff here are happy. It’s not always easy but I wouldn’t want it any other way. There is always something new to learn every day and we have a great team here; its friendly, homely and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

I love swimming, shopping and looking after my Grandson, Cillian, who is a new addition to the family.

Kamaljit Kaur

Registered Nurse

I have been working in care for 14 years. I became a nurse because I am committed to my job and I like it very much.

I joined Oxford House Nursing Home in 2007. I am motivated by helping others and I enjoy working in a friendly, professional environment.

Oxford House Nursing Home is my second home.

Anna Agyemang

Hygiene Assistant

I have been working for Oxford House Nursing Home for 16 years as a hygiene and laundry assistant. I like working here because the management are very good. My goals at work are to make the home nice and clean for the residents.

Anna Wright

Chef

I have been a chef at Oxford House Nursing Home since 2020. I have found the job very challenging at times but very rewarding too.  My passion for food, alongside working with people and for people, assisting their different needs made me change my career path and I became a chef about 6 years ago. I love my job as I relish seeing our residents enjoying the food. It’s very emotional hearing words such as ” the best meal ever”, “that dish was gorgeous”. I love the home too. The team work is outstanding and it is the best place I have ever worked. There is a family atmosphere that helps you feel appreciated. My goals are always high – to provide an outstanding service to our residents and I always look for opportunities to improve my skills and knowledge.

I love politics and in my free time I love gardening, reading books and socialising.

Steve Dolan

Maintenance Manager

I’ve been working in the Care industry for nearly 2 years as a Maintenance Manager. I am committed to my job because I care about the people I work with, both staff and residents to ensure they are in a safe & comfortable environment. I’m good at problem solving and can put my hand to most things including working under pressure and to deadlines with a positive attitude.

I joined Oxford House Nursing Home in December 2019 and I enjoy working here as it’s a great team & I get to interact with the residents, bringing a smile to their faces. Its very rewarding having the responsibility of maintaining the home and keeping everyone happy. This keeps me motivated because if the home is clean, well maintained and running smoothly we will maintain our excellent reputation.

My personal interests are holidays with my family, golf, darts & fishing.
