The Residents of Oxford House Nursing Home enjoy a visit from Berkshire Birds of Prey
The residents of Oxford House Nursing Home received an exciting visit this month from Berkshire Birds of Prey
The residents had the pleasure of getting up close to a number of birds, including Bella the Barn Owl, Luke Skywalker, a 5 year old Little Owl, Mo, a Long-eared Owl and Indi, an Asian Brown Owl. The handlers talked about their eating habits and habitats and gave some interesting facts about the birds. For example, the residents learned the big Brown Owl eats monkeys in the wild!
The residents enjoyed looking at, stroking and holding the birds. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the visit, the residents smiled and commented how nice it was to see these birds up close – they thoroughly enjoyed this activity.
