We thought we would allow Ilham to share her experiences on being a carer and why she enjoys working at Oxford House Community Care. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> <strong>How did you find the recruitment process? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I found Oxford House through my mum, she had a friend that recommended Oxford House, so I decided to search up the company and apply for a role.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2) Why did you choose Oxford House, what made us stand out?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxford House stood out to me because I had heard positive things about the company, and during the interview process everyone i had met was lovely and welcoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> <strong>How did you feel when you first joined?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I felt instantly welcomed in the company, the welcome i received from the staff here immediately eased my nerves as I was nervous about starting a new job in a sector that I had no prior experience in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> <strong>How was your training? The induction, medication, moving &amp; handling, did you enjoy the pace of your training ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My training was very informative, everyone was supportive and helpful and i learnt a lot. This made me feel more confident about the job and my ability in being a carer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5)<\/strong> <strong>Do you feel confident, competent &amp; supported? If so, why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I feel supported by the staff at Oxford House, the support i receive makes me more confident in being able to do my job. I&#8217;ve come to find this is a job i enjoy and would definitely consider as a long-term career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6) What are your targets when being a carer here? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My targets are to provide a high standard of care and support to every service user whilst providing a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where they are able to develop and grow at their own pace, maximising their potential emotionally, physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7)<\/strong> <strong>What does it feel like to be a fully trained carer that helps the local community? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I feel that I have been able to provide support to my clients to achieve their day to day tasks and make a difference in their lives as well as promoting empowerment so that they can maintain their independence. I will utilise the skills and knowledge that I&#8217;ve acquired through the job and use this to provide the best quality of care to the clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8)<\/strong> <strong>Would you recommend becoming a carer so far from your experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I would recommend being a carer, it\u2019s been a great experience so far.
