Our Services

At Oxford House Community Care we provide any care service that may be required at home, whether this is for the elderly, for someone convalescing or for an individual who is disabled. Or it may be for someone who feels that just an extra bit of help is needed.

Our services fall into four broad categories, with services often evolving over time and as needs change - personal care, domestic care, companionship and respite care. Please click on the headings below for more details.

We can visit you or your loved one once or as frequently as you desire - several times a day, perhaps once a day, once a week or once a month.

We have the experience and resources to tailor make each care package to suit the needs of each individual. We also provide overnight care or live-in services.

Please contact us to discuss your needs further - we would be delighted to provide you with a no obligation consultation.

Personal Care

Personal Care is just that - extremely personal - so we engage with the service user and their family, question what care they would personally like, and then produce a care plan that reflects this.

Needs range from assistance and support with getting up each morning, assistance with personal hygiene and washing, help cleaning teeth and/or dentures, choosing what to wear and dressing for the day ahead, assistance in using the lavatory and/or management of continence aids and/or the commode to maintaining hearing aids and cleaning spectacles.

You may request support with mobility around the home, meal preparation, nutrition and health. Assistance with medication may be needed, and assistance going to bed each evening.

Domestic Care

Whether as part of a personal care package or on a stand-alone basis, we are able to offer a range of domestic assistance services which might include:

  • doing or assisting with the weekly shop
  • regular visits to do routine cleaning duties
  • assistance with laundry and dry cleaning
  • one-off spring cleans or a 'blitz'
  • assistance in getting the 'jobs around the house' undertaken, with referrals and help with trades people where appropriate

Companionship

Companionship is often taken for granted but for many, loneliness is one attribute of older age that causes most concern.

At Oxford House Community Care we understand that regular companionship is essential and enhances one's daily life.

We can supply regular home visits - to provide a pleasant chat over a cup of tea, card playing or bridge for example - and accompanied trips to the shops, to the hairdresser, a walk or any other leisure activity.

Respite Care

As a business dedicated to providing care, we are fully aware of the pressures that can be brought to bear upon carers and/or the relatives of service users. It is a difficult and emotionally charged job being a full time carer to someone you love and everybody deserves to have a break. We are able to provide flexible packages on a regular or infrequent basis to enable carers or relatives to take time out. Such support can be provided on an hourly, daily, overnight or live-in basis.

  • Examples of how this support is provided include:
  • Providing support in the home, whilst the family is out
  • Covering for Care Worker holidays
  • Supporting a new or inexperienced family carer
  • Providing a Care Worker to go on holiday with the family
